My Baby is FIVE!!!

Maggie's birthday week started Friday when Grandma and GB came to town.  Since I was informed several weeks ago that "for my five year old birthday party, it's not going to just be Grandma and GB here", we went all out and threw a garden party with a handful of Maggie's closest buds.  There were all kinds of ridiculously cute details at this party, starting with the gnome invitations (that rhymed! and were of course hand made), bug hunt, feed the frog bean bag game, recycled gatorade bottle bird feeder craft, and what ended up looking like an angry bird pinata!  (TT didn't even get a chance to give it a whack- the girls destroyed that pinata, and didn't even give a hoot about what was inside.  Hilarious.)
I forgot to mention the dirt cake...complete with gummy worms and chocolate mushrooms!!!

Great day for a garden party with the girls!  The next day it poured and was 25 degrees colder, then on Monday, her actual birthday, she woke up to snow!!!

Lots of fun presents from cousins and grandparents and aunts and uncles!  By the time it was actually Maggie's birthday, Libby had had enough of this extended birthday celebration.

Little bit of morning fun in all the snow we really care to see in North Carolina!

Sicky Chickies

We ALMOST made it all the way through winter, and daddy's chemo, without bringing home anything nasty.  Maggie started the stomach flu on Friday afternoon, and passed it on to Libby.  These kids don't get sick much (knock on wood!), but when they do, they are good at it.  Maggie can puke in a bucket like a champ.  Not a drop any where else.  This is a very useful skill.  Her college roommates will appreciate this talent for sure.
Libby is an incredibly pleasant child when she doesn't feel well.  She doesn't have the energy to whine and cry  and kick and fuss like she does every other day of her healthy two-year old life.
Rob and I somehow did not get any of these flu symptoms. Believe it or not, it was a wonderful Saturday!
