Bye Bye Birdies

We had some new neighbors on Indian Trail last week.  A little family of chickadees made a home in the very beautiful birdhouse that Maggie and Rob created a few Christmases ago.

If you walked up to the bird house and made some very high pitched peep peep peep peep peeps in a row, they would think it was their mama with a juicy worm, and would poke their cute little heads out with their mouths wide open!  For a couple of days we had to be on the look-out for a certain neighborhood cat (I'm looking at you, Griz!) and shoo her out of the tree a couple of times.  And then after a couple of days, those babies got booted from the nest and were starting to learn how to fly.  We watched them hop around and get lots of pep talks (peep talks?) from mom and dad, and eventually they started to fly a few feet at a time!

Yes, Libby has a tattoo, and apparently she's working on a goatee as well.
We had a lot of fun with those cute little chickadees, bye bye birdies!!!
