Happy Fall Y'all

Last week, fall officially arrived, and it felt like it! We had the AC off and the jeans on!! And I'm convinced it's the pants that are making Maggie look like she's grown in just the last couple of days. She is growing up so damn fast. She repeats everything she hears, and it all sinks in, too. Last Sunday, we were watching the Steelers, and I asked her if she thought her cousins were watching. Then she says, "Macey? Mallo?". She's only spent a few days with them in August, and she knows that they are cousins, not just friends. We were at Target the other day, and we overheard some kids in a different aisle talking about Hotwheels. ( We weren't anywhere near the toys.) And I said, "You don't know what Hotwheels are." And she says, "Hotwheels. Racecars." We might be raising a true southerner. She's a riot.

She's been interested in the potty lately, too. She wants to sit on it all the time, but never when she actually has to go. The other day, I was trying to sweep the kitchen floor, and I knew she was getting into something.... I ran into the bathroom just as she was FALLING INTO THE TOILET, with her clothes on. I caught her in time for her not to be scared to death of the throne, but not fast enough to save her from getting soaked. Never a dull moment here!

Summer's end

Well, summer is officially over now. We had one last hurrah at the pool this afternoon, they gave us one extra day past Labor Day, so now it really is official. (Hard to believe with temperatures in the nineties.) Dawn came to visit this weekend- it's so AWESOME to have my sister just a couple hours away- all we did was hang out and play with Maggie. It's such a strange feeling to not be so completely sad to see someone leave our house- it's not that we don't love her, we just know we'll probably see her again in just a few weeks!!

Our big excitement over Labor Day weekend was flying down to Tampa to visit Uncle Danny, Aunt Kelly, and Cousin Will. We all had a great time, and the weekend went really fast. Maggie loved Will's toys, and he did a very nice job of sharing (as if he had a choice). She also liked Will's kittys and their toys. We got to swim in Aunt Kelly's cool elephant pool, too. And oh yeah, we went to see Mickey.

Maggie was so excited going into the Magic Kingdom and walking down Main St. There were Mickey balloons, Mickey pumpkins, Mickey everywhere. We went straight back to where Mickey was hanging out for us to meet him and take his picture. It was very much like waiting for Santa Claus, and we got pretty much the same reaction from Maggie when she first met him, too. Crying. Scared to death. She got a little braver after that, though.

She tried to take a little nap while we waited in line for "it's a small world", but mommy woke her up once we got on the boat. I think she thought she was dreaming the entire 327 times we heard those four words.

When she got to see Mickey and all his friends in the parade, she was thrilled, soaking wet from the pouring rain, and covered in chocolate from the best ice cream bar in the world, thrilled!! The thrill was almost gone when the wicked witch from Sleeping Beauty gave her the evil eye and seemed to be casting some sort of spell on my little girl- if it was a sleeping spell, it didn't work. She only slept 40 minutes for Grandma in the hotel room, and was ready for more Mickey!

Since she stayed up until midnight, we got to see the night time electrical parade, too. The highlight of this event was when Pluto patted her on the head. (Be sure to ask her about it the next time you see her!!) She was not a big fan of the fireworks. We were standing very close to where they were being launched, and it was really loud. It didn't scare her enough to want to go home, she still had to ride Dumbo and the merry-go-round.

It was a great weekend, one we'll never forget!! And I'm sure Maggie will be more than happy to jump on a plane to see Will and his Mommy and Daddy anytime- especially knowing that they have such exciting neighbors down the interstate!!!

Thanks for everything, Florida Cheneys and Grandma and GB- We had a great time!!!

The pictures are uploaded in reverse chronological order- not on purpose, sorry.
